off road parts question by Casual Catastrophe: I can’t decide if I want to be in a relationship or not.. any advice?
Well a little background story, I’m 21 now and have been single for a year. The last relationship I was in lasted for over 3 years until she cheated on me. I really liked being in a relationship up until that happened.. but the relationship was basically my whole life. Now that I’ve been single for a year I have opened up to a different kind of life and I really like it this way too. I have a much closer relationship with my brother since we have spent a lot more time hanging out, I spend more time with my family in general, I have all sorts of financial freedom (I’m the kind of guy that pays the bills but any left over money goes straight toward the fun stuff like off-road parts for my Jeep or skydiving) and I can do whatever I want with my time.
At the end of the day though.. I go to bed wishing that I had someone special to share my life with and hold when I fall asleep. I’m afraid that if I try to start a new relationship I might lose touch with what I have now. I made an online dating profile and got 1 match but I’m too nervous to even send her a message. Am I looking at something the wrong way here? Is there a way that I can figure out what I should do?

It’s not about deciding if you should find/start a relationship, the question is when you meet someone do you want to be in a relationship with them? You don’t “lose touch” with things you have now if you and your partner are enhancing each other’s lives and not “sucking the life” out of each other. A true, mature, loving partnership/relationship will encourage you to still be yourself and be true to what is near and dear to your heart (be it your family, hobbies, etc….).
